     Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE SmartCard offers extensive security features designed to eliminate unauthorized operation and reduce costs and downtime.  The SmartCard identity card reader connects via a high-speed USB port and conveniently attaches to the right side of the copier console for instant access. 

     SmartCard Authentication combined with Toshiba’s FollowMe software makes it easy to securely print documents to the most convenient device on a network.  Confidential or sensitive print jobs can languish at an unsecured printer for anyone to pick up, read or discard. 

     All the user needs to do is simply swipe their personal ID card.  It allows for immediate authentication and removes the need to manually type in a user name and password at the device. The SmartCard is built on existing Identity Card technology, so it will work on a customers current access cards.  Each card can be configured for custom levels of security and to enable or limit user access to specific MFP functions.

     FollowMe provides an enterprise-scalable all-in-one tool for roaming and secure printing, as well as copying, emailing, faxing and scanning control.  With its unique roaming capabilities, FollowMe allows users to share output devices anywhere on the network without the loss of privacy and security while enforcing cost-saving policies.  Documents are only released when the user is authenticated via an identification (ID) reader at the device.
